Kigali International Art College have experts in music technology, world music, conducting, jazz, musicology, music education, and specialists on all orchestra instruments, voice, guitar, and piano and it offering a short course training for only six months in Music in field of Audio production, Guitar and Piano.

On successful completion of this course at KIAC, the trainee should be able to:

  1. use suitable playing techniques with basic percussion instruments (tuned and untuned) (PK, CI)
  2. play in time with the beat (PK)
  3. imitate and repeat simple rhythmic or melodic patterns (PK, DI)
  4. improvise simple rhythmic or melodic patterns over a beat (PK, DI)
  5. read and play from a graphic score (PK, CI)
  6. read and play simple rhythmic notation (PK)
  7. play familiar phrases and tunes by ear. (PK)
  8. experiment with sounds and musical ideas and improvise with them to create moods, patterns, and effects (PK, DI)
  9. create simple musical pieces using structural devices (PK, DI)
  10. use appropriate notation to represent musical ideas and compositions (PK, CI)
  11. present, discuss, and evaluate their compositions using appropriate vocabulary. (PK, CI)
